Challenge
Our client’s platform is constrained by a rigid structure that supports only two primary functionalities—General Case Management and Public Information Requests. Users must choose between deploying one or the other, making it difficult for those needing both simultaneously. Additionally, the Public Information Request feature is tightly coupled with the Case Management module, creating dependencies that complicate maintenance and slow development. Any update to one module risks unintended disruptions in the other, increasing deployment complexity and the likelihood of errors. This inefficiency limits scalability and operational effectiveness, requiring a more flexible and modular approach.
Solution
To address platform rigidity and interdependencies, we re-engineered the system into a modular, single-platform architecture the solution now features two independent modules for General Case Management and Public Information Requests, allowing clients to activate either or both as needed. Core functionalities like workflows, task management, and notifications were extracted into shared services, ensuring consistency without dependencies.
Our solution streamlines FOIA request management by centralizing public request collection from multiple sources, automating routing and review to reduce backlogs and ensure timely responses. AI-driven analytics and OCR capabilities enhance document accuracy, automate redaction with exemption codes, and maintain legal compliance. Seamless workflow integration optimizes case management, while advanced reporting features provide real-time insights.
